The Bare Bones: A young Curandero is forced to come to terms with his beliefs when he is consulted on a gruesome paranormal murder case.
Curandero is shot like the love child of a History Channel Cult Documentary and an early episode of Criminal Minds. But only if they let Clive Barker do the demons' prosthetics.
In short 90's Alert.
- The title to the film in the beginning is on fire. But that Microsoft Power Point fire effect.
- The transitions are harsh, often going suddenly from dark and red to cringe-worthy over bloom effect light.
- All of the jump scares are shot like history channel reenactment cutaways. That is to say, over saturated, two second clips of some blood, or some guys screaming face.
So yeah. This movie is beautiful. Terribly, terribly beautiful, and I regret the fact that we humans are not yet developed enough to understand such glory and divinity that comprises the cinematography of Curandero.
